Title: Identification of Temporary Territory Spaces Towards Urban Resilience at Old Gubeng Station, Surabaya
Territoriality is an effort by space users to maintain and mark their own space. The resilience of a city is greatly influenced by the resilience of its urban spaces, as evidenced by the phenomenon of society creating territories in these spaces during everyday life. Currently, many urban spaces are not utilized according to the initial plan, but instead produce better spatial resilience. This writing is based on research at the main entrance of Gubeng Station, Surabaya, which observes the formation of temporary territoriality in certain micro spaces. The research methods employed include literature study and field observation, which map the use of micro spaces emphasizing spatial territoriality to visualize and analyze the data. Based on the literature study, it was identified that the parameters of territory creation, namely the mindset and behavior of the community, are interconnected with the existing physical space. Meanwhile, based on field observations, it can be observed that the creation of temporary micro territories occurs from various space users at different times. This research revealed that at the entrance of Gubeng Lama Station, Surabaya, a temporary territory was created with relatively fixed users and activities at certain hours. Although this can create a slum-like perception at the station entrance, the creation of temporary territories actually creates a strong sense of ownership of the space, thus influencing the resilience factor of urban space.
