Abstract

Title: Evaluating The Implementation of Universal Design Principles in the Kiaracondong Railway Station, Bandung

The availability of inclusive and user-friendly public transportation is a key indicator of a country's infrastructure development. As an integral part of the public transportation system, railway stations are required to implement accessibility in accordance with applicable regulations, which can be achieved by applying universal design principles. These principles aim to ensure equal access and ease of use for all users, regardless of their physical conditions. Kiaracondong Station is one of the railway stations that play a significant role in West Java's railway transportation network, serving passengers with diverse needs. This study employs an evaluative approach to assess station management's efforts to apply universal design principles to passenger facilities within the station building. The results showed that two of the six passenger facility objects didn’t meet the regulations: the ramp's slope did comply, and there were no toilets for people with disabilities.
